Where We Came From

This story of missions that started back in 1979 when Dale Davis was able to spend his summer in Mexico serving with missionaries in town of Talaxioco just south of Oaxaca.  Being only 13 years old, it was an extremely eye opening experience for him.  He then spent the summers of 1980 and 1981 in Haiti serving in Milot.  Wanting to see what their son was so excited about, Don and Karen went on a two-week trip to Haiti.  God touched their hearts and ultimately brought Don and Karen Davis to the country of Haiti.  Moving to Haiti in 1983, the Davis’ have dedicated the last 43 years as missionaries to this impoverished nation.  God has started a great work through them and He has raised up amazing individuals to advance this work.

Keeping the Legacy Alive

God’s Hands 4 Haiti, established in February of 2026, has followed God’s leading to provide an avenue to continue the legacy of Don and Karen by taking on the work the Lord has begun and providing the structure and guidance needed to see this work move forward.

Our work will revolve around two basic areas of ministry. First would be the food bag ministry of providing a week’s worth of food for a household enslaved to hunger and the many maladies that accompany poor nutrition. This bag included many basic food items in the Haitian diet as well as tracts, coloring book, and, when available, the books of John and Romans. Even if the recipient cannot read, they will find someone to read the materials to them.

Second would be to help the people of Haiti advance future opportunities with the advantage of basic education. At Institution Chretienne Mondelus De Lambert, the school that Vero started, we hope to be able to help accomplish just that. They are taught basic math, writing, and grammar, but also French and English. This will provide open doors for their future. While at school, the children are also fed a meal. For most of these children, this will be the only thing they will have to eat all day. We also hope to continue to find more opportunities to help the amazing people of Haiti with things that can help them long term, such as finding ways to provide for themselves.

Throughout all of this, we will be sharing God’s Word. In all we do there will be the ever-present intentional act of providing them with the information necessary to find eternal life as God intended it at creation and Jesus secured for us in His life, death, resurrection, and ascension to the right hand of God the Father.
